A lot of time it was thought that the institutions (the centres) for children were good. The experience proved the contrary. Children who are raised in an institution find it difficult to integrate themselves into the real life, to get a job, to get married, and forward to have their own children. No matter how good the conditions of an institution might be, no matter how professional the stuff working there, the effect is a traumatizing one. The thought that he was not been raised by his own parents, the sadness of having nothing of his own, the lack of trust in the adults and the fear for the future has too early transformed a child into a man with difficulties.
-Do whatever you can do so that no child should be separated any more of his family!

Here is what you can do…

Do not show indifference when you see a sad child. Talk to him and see what his problems are. Your advice can be helpful to him.
… as a doctor
You know how important it is that a child should be raised by his own family. Explain to the parents that no institution can replace their love and care.
…as a priest
You can help that a lonely mother should be accepted by the family and the community. Or direct her to those who can offer their support. And you are also the person who can help the Child Care Directorate to find maternal assistants in your locality.
…as a policeman
You often come across children whose families are in difficulty. You can also help them by addressing yourself to the Town Hall or to the Child Care Directorate.
…as a politician or leader of the community
Your words are being listened to. Whenever you talk to people, remind them how important it is for a child to raise in his own family.
